The paper "Byzantine Fault-Tolerant Deferred Update Replication" authorized by Fernando Pedone and Nicolas Schiper from University of Lugano, Swisstzerland and José Armendáriz-Iñigo from Universidad Pública de Navarra, Espain, received the award offered by the Critical Software Company. The award ceremony took place during the Conference Dinner. Mohamed Kaaniche and Elias Duarte, chairpersons of the Program Committee, announced the award which was given by Ana Cristina Guimarães, CEO of Critical Software - Brazil. As the authors could not be present in this ceremony, the award was proudly received by André SCHIPER who is Fernando's former tutor and Nicolas' father. Pictures reveal the emotions of this event.
