The Proceedings of the 10th PBII&D will be published as a special (but consecutively numbered) issue of the journal Surface and Coatings Technology. The format, letter-type and lay-out will be the same as for the regular issues of the Journal. There will be no page charges.

The contents of the Proceedings will consist of invited papers plus a selection of contributed papers. The length of papers in the Proceedings is 10 (ten) printed pages for invited papers and 5 (five) printed pages for regular contributed papers.

The Proceedings are to be published within five months after receipt of the complete and final manuscripts by the publisher (Elsevier), and no later than 1 September 2010, provided that the complete and revised manuscripts are to be received by the publisher by 1 April 2010.

Since at least five to six months are needed for the reviewing process, electronic version of the manuscripts should be submitted by using the Elsevier Editorial System (EES) no later than 8 September, 2009.

Through a peer-reviewed process administered by the Workshop Organizing Committee, the proceedings of this well-established meeting have been traditionally published in prestigious scientific journals, with the proceedings of the:

- 4th PBII&D (Detroit, USA, June 1998) proceedings have not been published in refereed scientific journals.

- 5th PBII&D (Kyoto, Japan, Dec. 1999) in Surf. Coat. Technol. 136(1-3), Feb. 2001 [60 articles, 297 pages];

- 6th PBII&D (Grenoble, France, June 2001) in Surf. Coat. Technol. 156(1-3), July 2002 [60 articles, 350 pages];
