• The development of SPRING free software begins, based on a data model that combines “fields” and “geographic objects” ideas. This software had anticipated almost 10 years the implementation of similar solutions in commercial systems. Its interface combines applications run by “menus”, and a consulting and space manipulation language.
• Modernization of Astrophysics Division, which acquires workstation sets used in the analysis of astrophysical images interpretation.
