• Equipment reach Cuiabá Data Reception Station, INPE. Brazil has become third country to receive images from American Landsat satellite, after the United States and Canada.

• Beginning of many scientific experiments involving NASA and INPE (CNAE at that time) such as airglow measures, total electronic content, VLF meter, ionosonde, etc. Data obtained from these experiments resulted in several master’s dissertations by INPE’s students.
